Who We Are
Heartland is a journal of geopolitics originally created in China and Italy, which aims to construct a forum for discussion based on three pillars: Asia, Europe and America. This journal has a short history.
It was born in 2000 on the initiative of a few Chinese and European enthusiasts of geopolitics. Its founding nucleus in particular is Limes, the Italian Journal of Geopolitics and a handful of Chinese scholars. This original nucleus was enlarged by experts from other countries, mainly Americans.
Until 2004, Heartland was published and distributed in printed form. Since March 2005, Heartland has been a website. This choice is intended to promote circulation, knowledge, and the exchange of often remote and disparate points of view.
Heartland is open to all opinions and analyses (not counting those of a racist variety) and is not intended to advance a particular belief. Geopolitical reasoning consists of specific cases, not theories. Hence geopolitical maps provide a fundamental basis for our type of analysis.
Heartland accepts letters of criticism as well as proposals for ideas or projects. Along with the website, Heartland also hosts public meetings and seminars, both national and international, for which we will give notice on this site.
